3WARE COMMANDS A STRONG PRESENCE IN LINUX COMMUNITY WITH NEW PARTNERS ELINUX, THELINUXSTORE.COM AND LINUXCARE

Industry Leaders Partner with 3ware – Now More than 30 Channel Members Strong—to Deliver Innovative Storage Solutions to the Linux Community

LINUXWORLD, New York, NY.—January 31, 2001 - 3ware® Inc., a pioneer of innovative storage solutions, announced today strategic partnerships with three leading providers of Linux solutions. eLinux, a wholly owned subsidiary of The IdeaMall (NASDAQ:MALL), TheLinuxStore.com, a wholly owned division of EBIZ Enterprises Inc. (OTCBB:EBIZ) and Linuxcare, the leading provider of professional services and solutions for Linux and open-source technologies, have partnered with 3ware to deliver next-generation storage solutions to the industry’s rapidly-growing global marketplace using the Linux operating environment. In a June 2000 research brief, Netcraft, Inc. reports that 30% of all active Web sites employ the Linux-based operating system – which is higher than the market share held by Microsoft, Solaris and all other operating systems. With this announcement 3ware expands its channel partner program to include more than 30 leading resellers and integrators in the Linux market.

Under the terms of these agreements, eLinux and TheLinuxStore.com are successfully distributing 3ware’s Escalade™ ATA RAID storage solutions to the Linux community and will be distributing 3ware’s NSU (Network Storage Unit) in Q1, 2001. Linuxcare has tested and is providing certification for 3ware’s Escalade™ switch-RAID controllers, the fastest-growing RAID controller boards in the industry.

eLinux and TheLinuxStore.com join 3ware's channel partner program which now includes more than 30 partners. The 3ware channel partner program offers support and services to worldwide resellers and integration partners that are providing 3ware's family of storage products. 3ware assembled this impressive set of partners with its innovative solutions, including the first product that provides storage across TCP/IP, which extends the reach of Gigabit Ethernet into SAN applications through an integrated direct-connect RAID storage device.

“3ware’s Escalade RAID controllers and NSU will contribute to our success at eLinux by enabling us to deliver the newest available storage technology to IT professionals implementing the Linux operating system,” said Kris Rogers, president, eLinux.

“3ware is enabling TheLinuxStore.com to deliver storage solutions that offer performance and redundancy, and leverage existing Internet infrastructure which is crucial. As IDC research shows-- 40% of all spending on Linux servers is dedicated towards Internet related applications,” said Larry Phillips, vice president of sales, TheLinuxStore.com.

"Linuxcare is committed to providing quality testing and certification to all Linux vendors, including real-world testing through our Solution Validation service. 3ware storage solutions add tremendous value to the Linux and open-source community and our teaming with them will aid in the evolution of the storage market," said Douglas C. Mackbee, general manager of Linuxcare Labs.

“We are pleased to partner with three of the most influential providers of Linux solutions and services. 3ware is gaining terrific traction in the Linux marketplace and is well positioned to support an ever increasing demand for robust storage products in this growing market sector. Because 3ware storage solutions can be integrated into existing Linux environments in record time and at a lower total cost of ownership, companies can gain a competitive advantage immediately,” said Joseph Sorrentino, 3ware vice president of sales.
