For Detailed information go to: www.3ware.com/wtd 3ware Knowledge Base The 9.2.2 firmware provides improved write performance for multiple units on one controller The 9.2.2 firmware, version 2.00.03.0, has a revision that improves write performance with multiple units on a controller vs the 9.2.0 firmware release, 2.06.00.009. The 9.2.0 release modified the caching algorithm resulting in less than full stripe writes with multiple units on a controller. This could also affect systems with an unused second unit such as a spare. Performance decreases of more than 50% on writes have been seen as a result of this issue. Read performance is not affected. The 9.2.2 firmware release improves the caching algorithm with results for an 8 drive Raid 5 at 115 MB/s with either one or two units on the controller.
